Configuration settings for other POP3/IMAP software

In order to set up your POP3/IMAP account, you'll need to enter and/or verify the settings below are correct in your software.

We recommend using IMAP rather than POP3. What is the difference between IMAP and POP3?

Secure SSL/TLS Settings (recommended)

Username:

(e-mail address)

Password:

Use the email account’s password. If you don't know what this is, submit a support ticket requesting a password reset.

Incoming Server:

server.hostmetrics.net (unless otherwise advised)

  • IMAP: Port 993
  • POP3: Port 995

Outgoing Server:

server.hostmetrics.net (unless otherwise advised)

  • SMTP: Port 465

Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP. You may have to explicitly enable this in your email software independently for both incoming AND outgoing servers.

IMAP Path Prefix can be set to "INBOX", however this setting does not work well in all software. If you can't see your server folders for sent/trash/drafts/etc, then setting this should resolve the issue.

Insecure Settings (not recommended)

We do not recommend connecting to email servers without using a secure connection. You should only do this if your network environment prohibits you from connecting securely and if you are prepared to take the risk associated with an insecure connection.

Incoming Server:

server.hostmetrics.net (unless otherwise advised)

  • IMAP: Port 143
  • POP3: Port 110

Outgoing Server:

server.hostmetrics.net (unless otherwise advised)

  • SMTP: Port 25

Notes:

  • To protect your account, if you enter the incorrect password more than a few times, you will be blocked from the server. If this happens you won't be able to login or access the server until you have been unblocked. You'll need to raise a support ticket with us quoting your IP address if you think this has happened.
